ABOUT

Jo Hatcher is a Writer/Director (*Directress) originally from Jacksonville, Florida and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina. 

 

In 2021, she graduated from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts (UNCSA) with a BFA in Directing. In her last year of undergrad, she was accepted into one of the prestigious Sundance Feature Film Labs for a screenplay she wrote. She became the first current student in UNCSA's program to be accepted as a Sundance fellow, and the first ever in the Screenwriting Intensive. Jo has interned with Voltage Pictures, worked on Adidas' 'Honoring Black Excellence' campaign, and produced large marketing projects with Fidelity Investments. She has a talent for authentic storytelling, and an eye for aesthetics. She is a visionary and dauntless leader aiming to imagine women from drama to fantasy on the biggest screens.

 

Jo is currently in development for her first feature, and directorial debut. Her script recently participated in the 2022 Gotham Week under Features in Development.

Jo is a Gryffindor who spends her free time analyzing Marvel universes with her Pops or listening to Gospel music and chill rap.
